A process for smiling at the morning

October 26, 2025 Marce Merrell

Wake with attention

to the connection of

you to earth:

the spiral of energy

from underneath you

calling.

Relax. Respond. Relax.

Our bodies yearn for

the earth.

Our nest is soil, and plant,

rock and water’s edge.

Breathe in slow and release

tension.

Soften the eyes, the jaw,

the root of the tongue.

Let the list forming in

the mind

fade, remain unfinished.

Attend. Attune.

The morning is here.

Gently sway and rock yourself awake:

legs as windshield wipers,

or pressing one hip into the bed

and now the other,

Back and forth.

Back and forth.

Awaken the spine.

Trust.

Balance your energy

side to side.

back to front.

up and down.

inside and outside the body.

Imagine the outline of you is not

the mark of the dead, not a chalked

impression–

but a sphere.

Imagine we walk as spheres,

da Vinci-style;

fill your sphere with curiousity.

What will I meet today?

Breathe a balance

inhale and exhale

like the two loops

of an infinity symbol.

You face what is in front of you.

You honour what is behind you.

Bowing to the spirit within you.

Look in, look out.

The murmuration of swallows, of starlings,

show you the way.

In experiment, noticing Tags energy, murmuration, morning, practice, experiment
